Hey guys: I'm looking for ways to get word out about my new barrel racing book, "Rimfire" and figured I'd come here and get suggestions from the pros. :-) The book is written for readers 9-12 and is part of a series of books I've written on horses. Breyer Model Horses even made a model of one of the horse stars - Blackjack. For those who know "Hot Shot" - he's in the book. His owners, the Steinhoffs, were consultants on the story (it's really important that my books be realistic) and Martha Josey provided the back cover quote - "Rimfire brings the exciting world of barrel racing to life in a fun and delightful way! A great book for our youth and a valuable reminder that quitters never win and winners never quit."
Anyway, I thought I'd ask here about ways to get the word out in the barrel racing community. Is there a listing of clubs, websites, etc.? I've sent press releases to the big national sites and magazines but realize there are so many regional clubs, etc. Any advice??? I'd be happy to provide more info. on the book(s) if needed.
